Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques
Course accreditated by VTCT.
You will learn:
- UV20437 - Apply Make-Up
- UV20483 - Follow Health and Safety practice in the salon
- UV20419 - Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments
- UV20398 - Provide facial skincare
- UV20453 - Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- UV20418 - Remove hair using waxing techniques
- UV20470 - Provide manicure treatments
- UV20471 - Provide pedicure treatments
Duration:
The Stage 1 Initial Training Period is over 9 days and further information on training dates is available from Course Co-ordinator.
The maximum number of students per classroom is 6, please enquire about the next course start date.
Course Requirements:
The Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques route to competence certification is comprised of 3 key stages.
The three key stages are:
- Stage 1: The Initial Training Programme
Delegates successfully completing the Initial Training Programme will be awarded a Stage 1 Training Certificate; this entitles the delegate to progress to Stage 2: supervised workplace experience. - Stage 2: Supervised workplace experience
Stage 2 specifies the series of supervised tasks which the candidate will be required to complete in order to gain relevant experience in the workplace. The candidate must complete a log book record of the supervised tasks. - Stage 3: Competence Assessment
Stage 3 specifies the assessment process and criteria for the candidate to demonstrate competence. Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Competence from awarding body VTCT.
Course Pre-requisites:
Learners must be over the age of 16 for the Waxing and Eyelash Tinting Units
Venue:
- Training is held at 122 King Street, Broughty Ferry, Dundee, DD5 1EW
Dress Code:
- Beauty Uniform must be worn for all training sessions and practical assessments with flat closed in shoes
You are required to:
- Complete written exams and practical assessments
- Compile a portfolio of written and photographic evidence of treatments
Model:
A model may be required for some courses. You will receive a course confirmation which will explain if you require a model or not.
Course Cost:
Stage 1: £1495 + VAT includes training & kits in the following courses:
- Manicure & Pedicure
- Facials
- Make-Up
- Hot & Warm Waxing
- Eyelash Tinting & Brow Shaping
- Artificial Lashes (Weekend)
Payment options: A non-refundable deposit of £100 + VAT and 10 monthly payments of £167.40 (inc. VAT)
On completion of the Stage 1 process a Certificate accreditated by The Guild Of Professional Beauty Therapists is awarded and you can progress to Stage 2.
Stage 2: To achieve Stage 2 you must be able to perform voluntary supervised work experience within a beauty salon environment. Cosmetology can offer this facility and you will need to organise this with you Assessor. You must use your own kit at all times when performing case studies.
A further fee of £950 + VAT is made payable to Cosmetology Scotland Ltd to achieve the Stage 3 Competence Assessment and is payable when you start your Stage 2 logbook.
Your VTCT registration fees are included.
On completion of the Stage 3 competency programme you will be awarded a Certificate in L2 Beauty Specialist Techniques from awarding body VTCT. This qualification is required by Employers and if you wish to work internationally.
